Big Trip - Little Break 🇨🇭 Day 600
We roll down to Bern, once again stand with our friend with the best view and cook together (actually, cooking together is something like this: I knit, Gerd is always fixing some technical device or installing updates on her computer and she cooks).
We plan our girls' days, after all I'm on holiday, Gerd wants-must go to the office. "Yes, where do we want to go?" we ask each other. It quickly becomes clear that we're going to do something crazy: we're going to Beatenberg on the Niederhorn. Felix is already ready, Gerd is on the train to the office in the morning and we two ladies roll off.
Felix breakfast at Lake Thun and we're off up the ever-long road again. Weren't we just here yesterday? Yes, it's possible... If you're on a long journey, you don't have to keep gathering new impressions back home. We park our Felix at Camping Wang (the most beautiful, smallest, sweetest campsite on a slope with a view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau!) and I mentally prepare myself for a hike. After all, I'm on the road with THE hiking fairy.
But no way. Folding chairs are brought out, coffee is made and first of all we have a drink. I go to pay the bill and when I come back, my dear friend is gone. She's lying in bed, letting the sun shine on her face through the open back doors and slumbering. The mountain air seems to make you tired even without hiking.
Okay, we won't hike. That's fine with me. I have my things to do, my audio book and my needlework. What could be better than enjoying the view in the mountains with the best sunshine?
At some point, every power nap is exhausted and we start walking. We don't get far, we still have to practise ignoring the Schoggichueche. Maybe tomorrow.
Thank you, dear, for a wonderful holiday!
