Big Trip - Little Break 🇨🇭 Day 604
Family time in the Vagabond family. We are standing in the forest on a hikers' car park, 3 campers next to each other. Our son and his girlfriend drive a "real motorhome" that is getting on in years, with a seating area, an alcove and all the trimmings. Our daughter comes to us with a brand new rented Grand California. And we are in the middle of it all with our Felix.
Our two granddogs are jumping around. The dog school, which is also in the forest and is just learning how to walk well, is a little confused about us. We can distract them, of course.
Quickly, a table is placed between the vans (which we would also like to have, but neither our son nor his girlfriend are inclined to give it to us, because we still don't have a table), a few chairs and I, the mum in the group, provide the tablecloth, candle and flowerpot. A little later we have to bring out more chairs, the grandchildren are spreading out!
Our son and his girlfriend cook for all of us, our daughter is in charge of dessert. What's left for me? The washing up! "Mum, can you do the dishes? We haven't filled up the water." Yeah no, it's clear! No water. I guess children will never change. While I do the dishes, I watch the grown-ups and listen to their conversations.
We spend a wonderful evening listening to soft music (ABBA is always good, for all generations) and I realise once again what wonderful children we have. Full of contentment and gratitude, we then crawl into our snail shells, unfortunately none of the granddogs want to join grandma in the nest.
