Great Journey 🏍 Day 90
Encounters with people and nature are the most essential things for us on our journey.

It's not about being fast. Nor is it about ticking off all the sights. No, we're not even primarily interested in motorcycling.

We want to drift, have time, get in touch locally, help, be outside, quietly do some physical work and share the moments together.

These days was another great moment: we were allowed to help with the olive harvest. An (elderly) local lady needed some help, she has a few olive trees in the mountains. The olives were to be harvested, so we left early on Saturday and went up into the mountains full of energy.

Our only tool: joyful courage.

We quickly discovered that olive harvesting is a tough job. But in the small group that we were, it was still fun. Heiner and Uwe, two bicycle world travellers, told us a lot about the world, we all laughed a lot and already nets were laid out, trees were pruned, olive branches were cut (the little buggers just can't let go!), jute bags were filled with many small olives, in between we had a pause and the day was already over.It was one of those days where we can already say that we will live on it for a long time. In the evening we fell into bed, completely exhausted (the right arm still hurts days later!) but very satisfied.

Thank you, Heiner, for taking us with you!
