Once again it is December and my beloved now has to remember a new number for the sake of the years.
The day begins with a more than questionable birthday cake. In the absence of a proper cake, I improvise and notice that the candles have the prio. He forgives me for making a mistake. After all, the candles bear witness to a younger decade.
In Sousse we visit the medina, a really good idea this time. The best time - we now learn - is Friday noon at the time of Friday prayer. We are left alone, as not all, but quite a few are on their way to pray.
In the really beautiful alleys of the old town, we find a barber (next to countless cats) who trims what little hair is left on my moggy's head and removes the much more stubborn facial hair. Gerd settles down, closes his eyes and disappears into the pampering programme.
After a good half hour (or has it even gone an hour?) I have a man who looks pretty close to the age on the birthday pseudo-cake from the morning.
We stroll on, eat something small, drink freshly squeezed pomegranate juice and take a taxi home to our Felix. Actually, he is only 2 kilometres away, but we really wanted to drive a taxi in Tunisia.
Actually, we wanted to have a massage, but we are too tired and postpone the pampering programme until tomorrow. And we think it's an excellent idea to celebrate a birthday on several consecutive days while travelling. After all, we have time!
At least one of the two people on board feels that it is important for Switzerland to make it into the last sixteen.
Merci for "travelling with us

Happy birthday Gerd! 🎈🎁🎂🥂
We are very close to each other there. 😁
And you looked so pretty!
Tip top! 👍
And finally cats again! 🥰
So:
These traders.....wouldn't be anything for me!
I would have either snapped or fled a long time ago! 🤬
Have a good trip!
Kind regards from Racheli from rainy Bavaria
Dear Rachel, first of all, thank you very much for the birthday greetings. And of course: all the best for your birthday too!
Yes, cats! Gerd (and I) have completely arrived in paradise, right?
The thing with the traders is getting better: we are getting better and the further south we go, the less exhausting it is. Because in the south the medinas are really still lively with locals. Not so touristy...
We will report further.
Kind regards - Heike

St. Nicholas and a birthday 🎄💐🍾🎂🥂if that's nothing to celebrate!
Anyway, Gerd, congratulations and all the best!❤️So I love reading about Tunisia too, we were just there.
We have been travelling around Tunisia since 1981. We can share your impressions!
Advent greetings from Berlin
Dear Sabine, well, not quite St. Nicholas....
I always post a little delayed, but yes, almost 😉
Tell me, have you actually been all over the world? Why don't you think about becoming a tour guide?
But seriously, we are quite happy here, although unlike Turkey, Bulgaria or Ireland, for example, we did not immediately fall in deep love. But we're starting to get a good feeling... And we'll keep at it!
Warm greetings to you in Berlin and everywhere! We have 26 degrees today, our Felix has discovered a new function: he mutates into a sauna!
Kind regards - Heike & Gerd
