Great Journey 🇫🇷 Day 619

We need money. Cash. For a small eternity we have been travelling without cash. But here in France, parking spaces have to be paid for with real money from time to time. Even at fruit stands at the roadside with the trusty cash registers, payment is only possible with coins. In addition, I always have to have coins in my pocket to give to the needy.

Besides, we need to fill up again, Felix is quite thirsty with all the ups and downs. Or is it the summer that tempts him to have a little more to drink?

Conclusion: we leave the beautiful campsite in the nature park and on the route to the Ardennes we stop somewhere, some town. We end up in Sedan and at the very back of my brain cells the memory of history lessons quietly crackles. Sedan, wasn't there that battle? Why did my brain remember that? I have no idea.

After buying our first French baguette, "letting out" cash (as Gerd always says) and filling up Felix, we stroll through the botanical garden here in Sedan. I wouldn't call it a botanical garden now, more like a well-maintained (and strictly lawn-mown) city park, but it casts calm and serenity over us after the "hectic" ATM-baguette-fuelling-to-do list.

Merci for "travelling with us

We are thinking about taking another break from travelling in the summer and visiting our families in Germany and Switzerland. One of the ideas is to organise a Lecture about our long journey to the Persian Gulf to prepare. If you would like to, what would interest you the most? We will also tell stories here that don't find a place here on the blog. We're thinking of the Bern and Berlin area - simply because we have family there. But other places are also conceivable. Feel free to write to us.

Do you think our travel experiences might be of interest to others? Then you can share the Share post quietly. By e-mail or however you want to do it.

In addition, if you haven't already done so, you can use our Newsletter subscribe. Here you will receive all our experiences in your mailbox whenever we publish something new or once a week on Fridays: live-pur.ch/newsletter
