After a few days in Cambridge with Gigi (our read-aloud app, which takes its name from the TripTastic changed) we realise that we want to hear stories. Our knowledge needs to be expanded with stories, so to speak.

A walking tour of historic Cambridge is quickly booked and the first thing we hear is that there are two famous university towns: Cambridge "and the other place". It's clear that small rivalries are the order of the day here, too.

We get to know a few of Cambridge University's 31 colleges better and, of course, also the pubs where students "carry on". Jonny, our wonderful tour guide, a mixture of oddball woodsman, storyteller and wandering encyclopaedia will later say: "Thinking here, drinking there!"

Jonny also shows us on which street the most important people in Cambridge lived: Stephen Hawking and Jonny's grandmother. Door to door.

While during the day people walk around "freestyle", in the evening Cambridge feels more like a Harry Potter movie. Apparently, we learn, if you are invited to dinner, you have to dress up with a shirt, tie (in college colour and pattern, of course) and generally good clothes. As Jean Paul said, "Everyone still knows a ceremonial he grumbles about and one he wants to keep."

Immediately we hope that this chalice will pass us by.

Merci for "travelling with us

We are thinking about taking another break from travelling in the summer and visiting our families in Germany and Switzerland. One of the ideas is to organise a Lecture about our long journey to the Persian Gulf to prepare. If you would like to, what would interest you the most? We will also tell stories here that don't find a place here on the blog. We're thinking of the Bern and Berlin area - simply because we have family there. But other places are also conceivable. Feel free to write to us.

Do you think our travel experiences might be of interest to others? Then you can share the Share post quietly. By e-mail or however you want to do it.

In addition, if you haven't already done so, you can use our Newsletter subscribe. Here you will receive all our experiences in your mailbox whenever we publish something new or once a week on Fridays: live-pur.ch/newsletter
