Great Journey 🏴 Day 666

great journey 🏴 day 666 so slowly we creep towards the island sk

Slowly we creep towards the Isle of Skye. But first there is the little detour to Eilean Donan Castle. The sun smiles gently over Loch Duich and the castle on its island is simply beautiful to look at.

Eilean Donan is regarded worldwide as one of Scotland's most iconic images. Situated on an island at the point where three great lochs meet and surrounded by majestic scenery, it is no wonder that the castle is now one of the most visited and important attractions in the Scottish Highlands.

We want to visit the castle once, but notice that the entrance fees here are really steep. Our daily budget includes attractions and entrance fees from time to time, but we simply don't want to support every castle financially.

So we are left with the view from outside, we can also see the famous bridge from the visitors' terrace. I read us a few things about the castle, TripTastic (formerly Gigi) takes over the rest.

Since we'll be passing through here again (we'll probably leave the Isle of Skye again at some point, and probably this way) we can always consider a visit to the inner castle.

But it is certainly beautiful, Eilean Donan Castle. And it has a beautiful and melodious name, doesn't it?

Merci for "travelling with us

We are thinking about taking another break from travelling in the summer and visiting our families in Germany and Switzerland. One of the ideas is to organise a Lecture about our long journey to the Persian Gulf to prepare. If you would like to, what would interest you the most? We will also tell stories here that don't find a place here on the blog. We're thinking of the Bern and Berlin area - simply because we have family there. But other places are also conceivable. Feel free to write to us.

Do you think our travel experiences might be of interest to others? Then you can share the Share post quietly. By e-mail or however you want to do it.

In addition, if you haven't already done so, you can use our Newsletter subscribe. Here you will receive all our experiences in your mailbox whenever we publish something new or once a week on Fridays: live-pur.ch/newsletter

We are also very happy to hear your views, your tips or your questions. Just comment on the post!
