Great Journey 🏴 Day 668

Today we discover Skye. The weather forecast predicts more than 40% rain-free. So it's off on a grand tour.

First of all we have a look at the Fairy Pools. From the mountains, which all look quite dark here, a nice stepped waterfall splashes down. Every now and then the water collects in small pools. One should take a bath. After all, it is summer. Always these "ma-mü-mas" and we're not there, because 14 degrees is simply not our comfortable bathing temperature.

On the way there it still seems dry, but the rain on the way back makes us get into the car soaking wet.

Continue across the island to one, to "the" lighthouse, Neist Point Lighthouse. The westernmost point on Skye. The sun does us a big favour here too, it shines for a few minutes. Okay, with a cold wind, but it shines for a change.

On the beautiful hike to the viewpoint, we sink ankle-deep in mud, let our hairdo(s) get tousled by the wind and instead of rain, we get wet from the wind-blown waterfall. It's the same as always here in Scotland. Once again we are soaking wet.

But it's good that the four-wheeled vehicles have heaters to dry shoes and socks and warm us up.

Merci for "travelling with us

We are thinking about taking another break from travelling in the summer and visiting our families in Germany and Switzerland. One of the ideas is to organise a Lecture about our long journey to the Persian Gulf to prepare. If you would like to, what would interest you the most? We will also tell stories here that don't find a place here on the blog. We're thinking of the Bern and Berlin area - simply because we have family there. But other places are also conceivable. Feel free to write to us.

Do you think our travel experiences might be of interest to others? Then you can share the Share post quietly. By e-mail or however you want to do it.
