We arrive in England. Drive overland as the motorway is jammed in all directions. It's the start of the holiday season. Overland, we are met by kilometre-long queues of motorhomes. Stop-and-go in the direction of the north.
For a short moment we feel that we have done it right. Until we arrive in the Lake District and have to face the truth: it's holiday time here too. We stop at the first possible pitch in Keswick and realise that if you look for a pitch in the early afternoon, you will find one.
So we stand by the lake, stroll through the really cute Keswick and enjoy summer holiday flair.
On the promenade, the kids flit with soft ice cream dripping down, the fft-fft-fft sounds of air pumps for inflating paddle boats accompany the loud music from mini boxes of the young people on the beach. Dogs run into the water, people throw sticks and our lake pitch fills up with other campers. There is a barbecue, people are cooking outside and the minis from the neighbouring van are constantly doing cartwheels on the lawn between our vehicles.
We put out the (so far almost unused) chairs, cook ourselves something nice (yes, we can cook better than Toast Hawaii!) and watch the world of holiday people. We are happy and simply content.

We are thinking about taking another break from travelling in the summer and visiting our families in Germany and Switzerland. One of the ideas is to organise a Lecture about our long journey to the Persian Gulf to prepare. If you would like to, what would interest you the most? We will also tell stories here that don't find a place here on the blog. We're thinking of the Bern and Berlin area - simply because we have family there. But other places are also conceivable.
