Grand Tour - Ireland - Day 731 ff.

Grand Tour - Ireland - Day 731 ff.

We feel so a a bit disoriented. Where should we go? Should we go all the way up the coast and then back down the east side? The date for our ferry is set and we want to be in Dublin in 2 weeks.

Besides, as I write and sort the pictures, I notice that our brain and travel heart memories are full right now. Another beach? Just one more special beach? Sometimes in the evening we don't even remember where we slept yesterday.

Stop.

We somehow have to travel much slower again. With heavy hearts we decide to skip Northern Ireland. Gerd steers Felix inland. We don't drive much per day, are usually already on a nasty mountain or at a beautiful lake by midday and do what Astrid Lindgren called: "And then you have to have time to just sit there and look in front of you."

Sometimes we try hiking. Only hikes without trails across country turn out to be very muddy: if you wade through the moor, you quickly end up with dirty shoes, wet feet and face, neck and arms bitten by invisible mini-mosquitoes. Nevertheless, we do it, wash our hiking boots later in the rippling river and consider putting on our Crocs for the next trip. Moor hike to use.

At a lakeside campsite we meet 3 couples who are enjoying the day with picnic tables, barbecue and rain/sun umbrellas and an excellent atmosphere. Again we start talking, a French couple joins us and the afternoon fills our hearts with great encounters-memories.

At some point we will be standing alone by the lake, the clouds darken the sky and the umbrellas no longer manage to keep the table, chairs and people dry and laughing, the picnickers - just as well, they have just finished eating - pack up "We are in Ireland, so sun and rain are part of the barbecue!"

Merci for "travelling with us

We are thinking about taking another break from travelling in the summer and visiting our families in Germany and Switzerland. One of the ideas is to organise a Lecture about our long journey to the Persian Gulf to prepare. If you would like to, what would interest you the most? We will also tell stories here that don't find a place here on the blog. We're thinking of the Bern and Berlin area - simply because we have family there. But other places are also conceivable. Feel free to write to us.

Do you think our travel experiences might be of interest to others? Then you can share the Share post quietly. By e-mail or however you want to do it.

In addition, if you haven't already done so, you can use our Newsletter subscribe. Here you will receive all our experiences in your mailbox whenever we publish something new or once a week on Fridays: live-pur.ch/newsletter

Good morning, dear. Yes, the ferry could be rebooked. But we have - oh stress! - we have an appointment in late autumn in Switzerland. What can I say? The route there is still long and full of new places!

Best wishes and have a wonderful week!

Ahhhh, I see.
Well then. Maybe spend a little more time in Germany ?
Visit S' Racheli ? 😁
You are very welcome.
Dachau is pretty and there are lots of things to do there.
Munich can be reached quickly by train.
The Oktoberfest begins on 18.9. 😉
Perhaps visit the "old Wies'n"?
Well, you're doing it right. 👍

Have a wonderful day, both of you.

Kind regards

Just as a suggestion and idea.
