"Coming home." That's how we feel. Even during the little round trip across the Peloponnese we are happier, more content, calmer than in the last weeks and months. We can't explain it.
When we hear the language, our bellies tingle (although we still don't understand anything, even after almost half a year in Koroni in the winter of 2020/2021). The scents from the tavernas delight our noses and the view of the turquoise sea caresses our souls.
We can't describe it any other way.
We turn the page back. At 23 April 2021 I write in our diary: "And Greece has shown what it can do. Even though our radius was actually only around 50 kilometres, we learned to love the people, appreciate nature and the sea taught us to be cold. We met wonderful people. We fell head over heels in love with this magical Koroni. We became lazy. Enjoyed the days in cosy monotony".
We remember that we almost bought a house here. So many names of friends buzz through our heads. I wonder if they are still here. Gerd checks his supply of cat food once more. "Yes, we can come, I still have enough. Koroni cats, I'm back!"
First we roll into the town, which we cannot enter at all with our van because of the narrow streets. We stand at the side of the road and look into the bay, into the harbour. The sun almost disappears and we embrace each other. "Yes, home!"
We are looking forward to almost 5 weeks here in peace. Tending the house, watering the flowers and petting the cat will fill our days meaningfully.

We are thinking about taking another break from travelling in the summer and visiting our families in Germany and Switzerland. One of the ideas is to organise a Lecture about our long journey to the Persian Gulf to prepare. If you would like to, what would interest you the most? We will also tell stories here that don't find a place here on the blog. We're thinking of the Bern and Berlin area - simply because we have family there. But other places are also conceivable. Feel free to write to us.
