Sundays are market days in Koroni. It always has been. We stroll with Heiner, our landlord, to the harbour. The fresh produce market is there. We shoulder our blue backpacks and take rain jackets with us as a precaution. As it turns out later, that was a good idea.
On the way we stop at Katarina's, our former landlady. She hugs us and we are all happy to see her again. Voula, our former "on-time cat", doesn't show her face, but Pünktchen (now called Lisa) purrs at us and proudly shows her big belly. Aha: kittens will soon be born here too!

Down at the market we meet a few old acquaintances, they remember us, hug us warmly and invite us to several coffees. It's funny, the whole thing. Two years, life hasn't stood still here either, and yet for us it's as if we'd never been away.
We shop at the market, where there are good vegetables from the farmers around Koroni. When I see the chestnut honey, I go weak, yes, it was sooo delicious! And as always, I buy a handful of kumquats at the very end, I immediately bite into the first one. And yes, I make a face as usual. But no matter, that's just part of it!
At coffee at the harbour, we are surprised by the rain. Our plan: sit out the rain and only walk home when it has subsided. So the coffee break is a little longer, which is also good. After all, it's Sunday!
The detour past Byzantinos brings something high-calorie into our shopping bag: my beloved chocolate fudge cake. We enjoy it on our terrace with friends, many pots of tea and coffee, good conversation and a few rows of knitting.

We are thinking about taking another break from travelling in the summer and visiting our families in Germany and Switzerland. One of the ideas is to organise a Lecture about our long journey to the Persian Gulf to prepare. If you would like to, what would interest you the most? We will also tell stories here that don't find a place here on the blog. We're thinking of the Bern and Berlin area - simply because we have family there. But other places are also conceivable.
