Great Journey 🏴 Day 683

The time has come! We go hiking. North of Stirling we catch the sun, stand on a dream pitch directly in the forest with the best view and get to know other campers with whom we spend the day, chat a lot, exchange tips and climb the mountain.

Once again we realise that we are something very special: We really are the only Vanlifers without a dog! How can you!

However, we also learn that you are allowed into all castles and palaces without a dog and that the botanical gardens are open to us. The café and restaurant search does not expand to include the topic of dogs. And last but not least, we have enough hair and wool lint of our own in Felix, so maybe that counts.

In the evening, after our hike, we notice what sun does to snow-white winter skin. It turns the skin a funny shade of pink, makes it tingle and then makes us hardly turn in the night because of the pain. We are really no summer pros after the long abstinence!

Moni takes out a hula hoop from her van (which turns out to be a sports equipment store). And I fall into the dangerous trap: I smile and say that I could do it so often, gladly and well as a child. Oh dear. That childhood was apparently a very long time ago and my body just doesn't want to remember its ability! Until all of a sudden it "flips" and I hulahoope for minutes. By the way: I had completely forgotten how exhausting it is!

What a bit of sunshine and a nice hike can do for us: high spirits and feelings of happiness!

Merci for "travelling with us

We are thinking about taking another break from travelling in the summer and visiting our families in Germany and Switzerland. One of the ideas is to organise a Lecture about our long journey to the Persian Gulf to prepare. If you would like to, what would interest you the most? We will also tell stories here that don't find a place here on the blog. We're thinking of the Bern and Berlin area - simply because we have family there. But other places are also conceivable. Feel free to write to us.

Do you think our travel experiences might be of interest to others? Then you can share the Share post quietly. By e-mail or however you want to do it.

In addition, if you haven't already done so, you can use our Newsletter subscribe. Here you will receive all our experiences in your mailbox whenever we publish something new or once a week on Fridays: live-pur.ch/newsletter
