Great Journey 🏴 Day 660/2

great journey 🏴 day 6602 hallelujah this nc500 has it all. we branch out

Hallelujah, this NC500 has it all. Every now and then we branch off from the main road, take the small cul-de-sacs and walk in bits and pieces.

Of course, we're not really making any progress at all. But that doesn't matter. The "in-the-moment experience" is why we set out.

We leave the main road only to immediately enter a single-lane and very winding uphill and downhill drive. Every now and then a few vehicles come towards us, but thanks to the many passing places we never crash into each other.

We look for a place to stay longer. Gerd is burning up, he wants to sleep (which he does for 2 days). At Loch Nedd we find what we are looking for. Time to read, knit, write and watch the tide go out.

Gerd snores away and doesn't notice the rain that pelts the roof, the sun that dares to come out for a few minutes, or the tides. That's what he always does: he just stays in bed for two days, then gets up and is well again.

Our almost self-sufficient recovery mobile is perfect for this: a relaxation room in the back, and actually also in the front. It is simply wonderful to spend time together, even if one or the other needs time to withdraw. I can knit my jumper in peace (I admit it, the English traffic on the wrong side of the road and I are not a relaxed combination!

Oh, the sun is just coming out, I'm going to go for a walk!

Merci for "travelling with us

We are thinking about taking another break from travelling in the summer and visiting our families in Germany and Switzerland. One of the ideas is to organise a Lecture about our long journey to the Persian Gulf to prepare. If you would like to, what would interest you the most? We will also tell stories here that don't find a place here on the blog. We're thinking of the Bern and Berlin area - simply because we have family there. But other places are also conceivable. Feel free to write to us.

Do you think our travel experiences might be of interest to others? Then you can share the Share post quietly. By e-mail or however you want to do it.

In addition, if you haven't already done so, you can use our Newsletter subscribe. Here you will receive all our experiences in your mailbox whenever we publish something new or once a week on Fridays: live-pur.ch/newsletter

We are also very happy to hear your views, your tips or your questions. Just comment on the post!
