Great Journey 🏴 Day 663/2

great journey 🏴 day 6632 often we look at the current apps around sch

We often look to the usual apps to find nice pitches. Up here in Scotland, however, it is also possible to simply drive to the end of a road that narrows into a lane and be rewarded with a lonely pitch.

Today we are driving around in a kind of highland, spiralling up metre by metre, feeling like we are in the Gadmer Dolomites (in the Bernese Oberland) and our GPS shows a whole 77 metres above sea level. Wow, we are really in the Highlands.

To the left we see a hole (yes, that's what they call the lakes here), which we like. When the sun comes out and shines romantically on the mountains, we know that we will spend the night "up here".

I then usually walk a little ahead to see if the steep rumble paths off the tarmac road are worth it. After a bend in the road, a magical place lies in front of me. Here we stay. The belated coffee break turns seamlessly into dinner. The wind rocks our Felix and thus also us. At some point we close the door so that our plates don't sail off the table.

From our bed we watch the sun set over the hill highlands and rise again sometime in the morning. We don't really want to get up, because the wind whips up the sunlit lake and for once we find it really cosy here in our little house.

Merci for "travelling with us

We are thinking about taking another break from travelling in the summer and visiting our families in Germany and Switzerland. One of the ideas is to organise a Lecture about our long journey to the Persian Gulf to prepare. If you would like to, what would interest you the most? We will also tell stories here that don't find a place here on the blog. We're thinking of the Bern and Berlin area - simply because we have family there. But other places are also conceivable. Feel free to write to us.

Do you think our travel experiences might be of interest to others? Then you can share the Share post quietly. By e-mail or however you want to do it.

In addition, if you haven't already done so, you can use our Newsletter subscribe. Here you will receive all our experiences in your mailbox whenever we publish something new or once a week on Fridays: live-pur.ch/newsletter
