Great Journey 🏴 Day 679 ff.

We've had enough.
In the evening we almost always fall asleep with rain puddles and often wake up with them at night or in the morning. We spend our two working days weather-ignorant.

We're starting to get the hang of it. We try to work on our "mindset", as they say, and hike in the rain. Nah, it's not cool, not at all. We try to find the cosiness in Felix great. We succeed less and less - it's July, hello?

We try the Scottish method: just dress for summer, put the chairs out and pretend it's summer. Wrong, because now not only our summer clothes have to dry in Felix, but also our chairs. We try not to talk about rain, we try to see the good in it all. We also try to accept that Scotland is "just the way it is".

But we realise that we are not superheroes in "talking things up".

It's like milking a mouse, it's just no fun. As beautiful as this Scotland is and as much as we would have liked to go hiking in the Highlands again, the weather app is now showing us our way: south-east. Away from here. Let the others love and enjoy Scotland.

We give Edinburgh one last chance (one of the weather forecasts shows sun!). If that doesn't work out either, we joke sun-hungrily, we'll be in Spain in 2 days with an energetic step on the accelerator.

📸 Harry Potter Train in the rain & Ben Nevis, THE Scottish mountain, in the rain-fog & Glennfinnan in the rain & Glencoe, this beautiful, probably the most beautiful Scottish valley in storm and rain (rain forest?)

Side note: we are posting one or two weeks late, the sun has now reached Scotland along with masses of holiday guests and endless traffic jams heading north. How do we know this? We met them on our flight.

Merci for "travelling with us

We are thinking about taking another break from travelling in the summer and visiting our families in Germany and Switzerland. One of the ideas is to organise a Lecture about our long journey to the Persian Gulf to prepare. If you would like to, what would interest you the most? We will also tell stories here that don't find a place here on the blog. We're thinking of the Bern and Berlin area - simply because we have family there. But other places are also conceivable. Feel free to write to us.

Do you think our travel experiences might be of interest to others? Then you can share the Share post quietly. By e-mail or however you want to do it.

In addition, if you haven't already done so, you can use our Newsletter subscribe. Here you will receive all our experiences in your mailbox whenever we publish something new or once a week on Fridays: live-pur.ch/newsletter

We are also very happy to hear your views, your tips or your questions. Just comment on the post!
