Switzerland - Underground Fashion Show in Bern

Pure life. On the road! - Underground Fashion Show in Bern

Gerd has one profession (which no longer exists) and I have two. One with fashion and clothes (you wouldn't believe it!) and one with media (rather, isn't it?).

But there was never a plan for our children to follow in our footsteps. One of them "does something with media", the other is currently moving very creatively in the direction of fashion. However, it should be mentioned that he does it much better. I simply made clothes to order, sometimes sewed something for myself or the family. There was rather less creativity to be felt.

Our son, on the other hand, grabs his sewing machine and recycles clothes for new styles. At the Underground Fashion Show in Bern, which we had the pleasure of attending (and which raised the average age quite a bit), we encountered crazy, creative, interesting and political statements on the catwalk. Nothing with chic à la Prêt-à-Porter and nothing with pieces for sale.

It is clearly noticeable that, apart from the many thoughts about the future and the lack of orientation that the many young people are currently feeling, there is a huge force here. This youthful dynamic of wanting to create something is wonderful to watch. We feel wonderfully at home in the midst of the loud, celebrating mob. Celebrating along, marvelling at the designs and - yes, admittedly - having to laugh from time to time. We are really infected by so much joie de vivre.

All in all, a very magical farewell to Bern, a great evening for and with our son (who, logically, was far too busy to chat much with us) and a really good start to the next stage of "pure life!"

Because, as the evening draws to a close, we roll onto the motorway in the direction of Italy and look for a parking space on Lake Sempach just before the Gotthard. We don't really get to sleep, we are too happy to have taken part in our son's first show. Eventually, full of joy (and a lot of parental pride?), we do fall asleep in the icy temperatures outside and dream of sunny and, above all, warmer days in the Sahara wind.

Merci for "travelling with us

We are thinking about taking another break from travelling in the summer and visiting our families in Germany and Switzerland. One of the ideas is to organise a Lecture about our long journey to the Persian Gulf to prepare. If you would like to, what would interest you the most? We will also tell stories here that don't find a place here on the blog. We're thinking of the Bern and Berlin area - simply because we have family there. But other places are also conceivable. Feel free to write to us.

By the way, we are travelling through Iran. It's possible that we won't be writing posts at all or will be late. We first have to see if it works for us. And whether we can even manage to write down all the fantastic impressions in good time.

Do you think our travel experiences might be of interest to others? Then you can share the Share post quietly. By e-mail or however you want to do it.

In addition, if you haven't already done so, you can use our Newsletter subscribe. Here you will receive all our experiences in your mailbox whenever we publish something new or once a week on Fridays: live-pur.ch/newsletter

We are also very happy to hear your views, your tips or your questions. Just comment on the post!
