A year ago, when we bought Felix, Gerd was already dreaming of air suspension. But the mind and the budget said "Stop!" for the time being.
Let's see first, maybe it will work out that way. And who knows if we'll like the camper life.
And yes, we like it. And yes, we want to continue living in our "rolling house". And yes, it rumbles mightily. 3.5 tonnes (well weighed, mind you) put a lot of pressure on the chassis and the suspension. And the roads so far have only been very good in Sweden, Switzerland and Germany.
And actually, we just wanted to "drop by" for the open day at our favourite retailer. Have a chat, maybe a coffee.
Instead of coffee, this is what happened: Ordering the partial air suspension for the rear (look a bit like double floaties), a few more buttons on the dashboard again and a humming vibration noise-maker under the passenger seat. Also nice, actually 😉
Well, after the installation of the floating wings (and probably another 100 m of cable fuss) and the subsequent inspection (something like TÜV), we are now swinging through the country with soft suspension. And on the one hand we are happy to have had it done and on the other hand we think we should have done it right away.
But as it is: if, would have bicycle chain.
Meanwhile, we are smarter and happy. So everything is fine again at Felix's house.
