After the family holiday week together, she just comes along. Sits in our Felix, her dog Max on her lap, and simply extends our parent-child time.
We talk, exchange ideas and inspire each other. I always find it fascinating what our children (both of them, mind you!) bring to us in terms of topics, what wonderful conversations develop and how much we research afterwards, ponder on it and often adjust our somewhat entrenched opinions about world events or other things.
After taking Gerd to his mum, we set off. Unfortunately, my favourite campsite on Lake Thun is now closed, as are many Swiss free-standing campsites. A pity. But Kathi finds another, equally beautiful spot in the mountains, with a view of snow-covered Alpine peaks and, some distance away, Lake Thun.
Here we fall into bed, dead tired and chatting. Max rolls in between us, seeking great closeness and is now being stroked with four hands and, by the way, shedding all his fur in bed. Well, for once it's not long human hair (from whom, I wonder?), but short brown fluff that is enough for the hand hoover to eat in the morning.
Actually, we wanted to go hiking, but the morning turns out to be a bit different: I have to work on a few things and Kathi thinks, with the audio book in her ear, lying in mum's bed, that a holiday in the mountains is also quite nice. Max seems to think the same.
We don't set off until around noon, after all, hiking is on the agenda.
Merci for "travelling with us
We are thinking about taking another break from travelling in the summer and visiting our families in Germany and Switzerland. One of the ideas is to organise a Lecture about our long journey to the Persian Gulf to prepare. If you would like to, what would interest you the most? We will also tell stories here that don't find a place here on the blog. We're thinking of the Bern and Berlin area - simply because we have family there. But other places are also conceivable. Feel free to write to us.
By the way, we are travelling through Iran. It's possible that we won't be writing posts at all or will be late. We first have to see if it works for us. And whether we can even manage to write down all the fantastic impressions in good time.
Do you think our travel experiences might be of interest to others? Then you can share the Share post quietly. By e-mail or however you want to do it.
In addition, if you haven't already done so, you can use our Newsletter subscribe. Here you will receive all our experiences in your mailbox whenever we publish something new or once a week on Fridays: live-pur.ch/newsletter

Dear Rachel, now we finally get around to answering again!
Yes, our children, no matter which ones, are simply wonderful! And a gift to boot ❤️
