As cool and innovative as California is, the waste produced by daily life here is enormous. When I arrive at Starbucks with my own coffee mug, they don't know what I want from them. If, like us, you ever get caught in the rain, it's encouraged to put your umbrella in a specially provided disposable bag when you enter a house so that no raindrops (watch out, water!) get on the floor. Crazy world. In the sense of crazy. Until now, I always thought water was okay. Well, learned something again that I don't understand. ⠀
