We are torn. We have a room at Tadlo Lodge and there are two elephant cows living here. Both were rescued from heavy forest work. Now they live here, but also as a tourist attraction. I think this is all the better than using them for logging. Nevertheless, I don't want animals to live in chains.
But I have the feeling that the animals are quite happy here, that they can live here by the water, that they are also looked after very lovingly by the elephant guides. And I am grateful that I can be so close to the animals, that I can experience their calm and serenity. The animals are huge, they are impressive. Gerd stroked them, I don't dare. Now we sit on the terrace, have breakfast and watch them eat and take their morning bath. Gerd's tears are running with emotion and I'm touched because he's so moved. But we are also crybabies. Once again: On the one hand I am happy that the two elephant cows were saved and on the other hand, never mind, I think they are fine here, I enjoy the moment and am grateful once again. #thankful #elephants Leben pur!
