Laos - The Coffee Plantations

Laos - The Coffee Plantations

There are many coffee plantations in Laos. We learn that on the Bolaven Plateau, at over 900m, the climate seems to be wonderful for it. Above 900m, the better Arabica variety, which is more expensive to sell, thrives, including the Robusta variety. However, as a coffee drinker, I am unable to taste the difference. That's why we bought 2 packets and will give it to our friend @klaasposselt so he can tell for me if it's good coffee. (I admit it, I even drink soluble coffee...) We took a 3-hour tour with Mr. Koffie, he took us through the plantations in Pakxong, showed us the coffee nursery (ankle-high), the coffee puberty (up to waist-high) and the coffee adult world (from head-high). And explained everything we wanted to know. And much much more. Mr. Koffie is a funny Dutchman who came here many years ago. And life had a few surprises in store for him. We really enjoyed the hours full of coffee and info. #mrkoffie #coffee #coffeeplantation Leben pur! Unterwegs.
