Tunisia - Mountain Love and House Cleaning

Tunisia - Mountain Love and House Cleaning

In one of the countless faceless towns along the way, we fill our supply cupboard and set off for the mountains. The search for reservoirs has always proved successful, even if they are often empty, or at least emptier than indicated in the navi.

The Dorsale is the north-eastern part of the Tell Atlas, which stretches from Algeria (we have already been there) in a north-easterly direction to Cap Bon (we have also been there). And here, between the Algerian border and Zaghouan, we are drawn again.

The mountains have always exerted an irresistible attraction on us. Their beauty reflects a depth and stillness that touches us at the core. The love for the mountains comes from the heart and needs no explanation - it is simply there.

The peace we find in the mountains is unique and makes us forget many things that annoy or annoy us. The landscapes, no matter where and in which mountains we find ourselves, are magical and offer a wealth of experiences both on the mountains and in the valleys.

The mountains give us love, challenge, silence and connection, embedded in breathtaking landscapes that remind us of reports from Mongolia. (Note to self: we definitely want to go there too).

We fill up with ice-cold (I almost said glacier water) water at a fountain and then park our moving bed high above the lake in a breathtaking landscape. During the night we learn (ok, actually we should have known) that the wind likes to whistle high up, but we don't mind this time.

Because the morning greets us with a dreamlike view. We can't help but enjoy it. A short walk, watching the animals that visit us from time to time and a big house cleaning fill the day. And: we don't want to leave.

A small insertion: we have just heard in an interview with Gerald Hüther that one can also be full of devotion when cleaning the house. Let's try that right now. It works. After all, it's only 10 square metres of living or cleaning space.

The next few days look similar, only in different places: we stand around, have to work a little, look into the distance, chat in the evening with policemen who want to tell us something about the oh-so-dangerous area here. Smile and enjoy. During the day with the best view, at night with a million stars above us.

Once again we are surprised at what Tunisia has in store for us.

Merci for "travelling with us

We are thinking about taking another break from travelling in the summer and visiting our families in Germany and Switzerland. One of the ideas is to organise a Lecture about our long journey to the Persian Gulf to prepare. If you would like to, what would interest you the most? We will also tell stories here that don't find a place here on the blog. We're thinking of the Bern and Berlin area - simply because we have family there. But other places are also conceivable. Feel free to write to us.

Do you think our travel experiences might be of interest to others? Then you can share the Share post quietly. By e-mail or however you want to do it.

In addition, if you haven't already done so, you can use our Newsletter subscribe. Here you will receive all our experiences in your mailbox whenever we publish something new or once a week on Fridays: live-pur.ch/newsletter

We are also very happy to hear your views, your tips or your questions. Just comment on the post!
