We admit it: we're not so good with the days of the week. "What day is it today" happens to us more often than years ago at home.
So we take a leisurely drive to a small mountain village, order the Berber pizza typical of Tunisia and settle down at the nearby reservoir. We already know the lake, we have already been on the first north tour here in Beni M'Tir.
What we don't know is that 1. it's a Saturday morning and 2. this seems to be a Tunisian hot spot. From 8 o'clock onwards, we are parked all over the place by coaches and several small and medium-sized cars. We don't mind so much, we don't want to leave right away.
Then we hear drums, loud music and happy singing. Now we have to get out. And join in right away. There is already a party going on here in the morning. There is dancing, singing, tug-of-war between different groups on the dam wall and loud cheering and cheering. It doesn't matter who wins the tug-of-war, everyone has fun! In the middle of it all, the tea vendor with his ancient dented tea kettle. The stalls that have been set up in the meantime are loudly hawking nuts, berries and other delicacies.
The small flatbread bakeries are also already set up - and we are there again. Today we are asked if we want the deluxe version. Which one? Well, the one with cheese. Gerd nods. It's the weekend, he says, so we treat ourselves to the deluxe. He beams.
Until we see one of those triangular processed cheese wedges wrapped in aluminium foil and spread with harissa on the flatbreads. Somehow we imagined deluxe differently. At home, we secretly call these processed cheese wedges and slices petroleum derivatives and would never buy them. Here, they even taste a bit good to us. After 3 months of abstaining from Swiss cheese, we believe in the word cheese. No matter what it's made of.
Around noon we manage to leave our place between the departure of one coach and the arrival of the next. We roll through beautiful mountain landscapes, past an unbelievable number of visitors, hikers, chaotically driving buses and hungry dogs. At least we have something for them: bags of cat food. Which they also eat gratefully.

Hi both, to your question about the video. Well, my wife couldn't see/play the video on her tablet, but I could on mine. 🤷♂️
Kind regards Dirk
Oh, that's exciting. May I ask if you have similar systems or are there differences? For example, apple and something else?
Kind regards and many thanks! - Heike
Similar yes and no. Both Samsung tablets, so with Android. One is over 6 years old (Android Ver 8.1), so it didn't work.
The other one is 1.5 years old (Android Ver 13) and it works.
I was also able to play the video on my smartphone.
Kind regards and have a good journey
Claudia
