Info for all newsletter subscribers: We finally have an "about us" page, so you will get this post sent to you!

Why you should read this? That's a pretty good question that we don't have an answer to here either.

But just browse a bit on our blog and decide for yourself. If you like it, tell others who might also want to dream away, or just read it every now and then when you stop by. Or subscribe to our Weekly or daily newsletter with our daily experiences.

Who are we?

First and foremost, two people who Life brought together has, which really gladly on the move are those that have been The joy of encounters and the Love of nature live and also be happy to tell you about it. Oh yes, and like to go to museums, but that's mostly for fellow travellers.

We have always loved to travel, but it wasn't until "the kids were out of the house" that we gave away, sold, donated and yes, also disposed of almost all our stuff and set off with two motorbikes. Into the world.

As life goes, we then reduced from two to one motorbike in Rome. After a good year, the next change: we move into our van and finally have room for bigger chip bags (Gerd), lots of knitting needles (Heike) and a bit more cooking equipment.

How does it work?

The question comes up again and again. Sometimes hidden, sometimes open. It's about money. So: We work on the road, meanwhile known as "Digital nomads" known, although we prefer "Work location-independent" say.

We had once saved up something to be able to travel without work. Then everything changed and we were able to work on the road. Thanks to Gerd's boss and my clients for their trust and a little bit to "C" for the new flexibility in the office!

We are always in Switzerland for longer periods of time, we still have our residence there. And yes, we pay our taxes gladly and normally like everyone else. Our pension and health insurance are also in Swiss hands. So to put it simply: we are long-term travellers with ever-longer stays at home. On the one hand, this is required by law, on the other hand, we need family & friends at regular intervals for our salvation.

So brave!

Yes, we often hear that, but it's not. It is rather consistent. Or in our working language: priority management. Being on the road is and remains the number one priority. Everything else is based on that.

Courageous for us would be (and we know what we are talking about), Having children. Taking responsibility for a family without knowing how to do it, without a project plan and alternative check: that's brave.

On the net we find this definition of courage: "Courage is a conscious act that someone undertakes despite a risk to themselves in order to pursue a worthwhile goal. In doing so, the person is aware of their subjective risk".

And now for our journey: Yes, an intentional act, but by no means a risk. Many people travel to the countries we visit. We travel in pairs, that gives us security. Yes, perhaps only an imaginary one, but it is enough for us.

Maybe it's brave to make a decision for once. Yes, it could be.

Everywhere we are fed, everywhere there are roads, everywhere we are helped when we need help (and even when we don't), and everywhere in the world we feel welcome.

"The world may have evil people. But I have not met them!" (Rolf Lange)

So: enjoying life and travelling is the most important thing to us. So why not follow the call of the world?

Oh yes, if that's not your priority 1, don't worry, then you just go on holidays, holidays, normal trips and have a lot of fun in the garden, on day trips to the mountains or the sea, meet friends and family regularly or pursue your hobby.

Do you notice anything?

All the things you can do at any time, we miss! Every now and then. That's the deal we made. Everyone has things they can do at any time and others they look forward to for days, weeks or months.

And now: Glad you've landed with us, we're very much looking forward to your virtual journey with us!

Kind regards - Heike & Gerd

Here are a few more links or videos to explain the "thing" better:

PS.: We have made some more "changes" to our website, for example there are two new categories We & Future and here there are also new text: Links & Recommendations.

And for all those who still noticed it: Our blog is now also on French and English to have. Simply select the language at the top left of the flag symbol.

Merci for "travelling with us

We are thinking about taking another break from travelling in the summer and visiting our families in Germany and Switzerland. One of the ideas is to organise a Lecture about our long journey to the Persian Gulf to prepare. If you would like to, what would interest you the most? We will also tell stories here that don't find a place here on the blog. We're thinking of the Bern and Berlin area - simply because we have family there. But other places are also conceivable. Feel free to write to us.

Do you think our travel experiences might be of interest to others? Then you can share the Share post quietly. By e-mail or however you want to do it.

In addition, if you haven't already done so, you can use our Newsletter subscribe. Here you will receive all our experiences in your mailbox whenever we publish something new or once a week on Fridays: live-pur.ch/newsletter

We are also very happy to hear your views, your tips or your questions. Just comment on the post!
