Italy - Quiet island life in Santo Stefano

22 October 2020

Great Journey 🏍🏍 Day 47

For days we have been on a small island that we didn't know existed. It is nice here. A nice beach, a few harbours and a humpbacked road that leads almost around the island.

We extend from day to day, nothing drives us. We spend the evenings in small osterias with the most delicate gnocchi (I always have to think of Jochen from the Reisen-Reisen podcast, he spoke of German gnocchi á la Türstopper), the days on the beach, on our terrace or on the motorbike on a round tour of the island. With 20° C and a light breeze, beautiful sunshine and views of the rocky coastline, we are thinking about another extended day. Maybe we'll go on tomorrow. Or maybe not.

Our next destination is Rome (150 km from us), but we don't have to reach it until the weekend, as our language course starts there on Monday.
