085 - Adventure Laos - Champasak on the Mekong & Wat Phou

Relaxation and the beautiful world of ancient temples

After an exciting bus ride, we landed in Champasak. We took an extension: Pool, massage, plenty of sun and relaxation. And: we went to the temple. In an ancient former Hindu, later Buddhist temple. Wat Phou is a former Khmer temple complex in Champasak province in southern Laos. The preserved ruins date from the 11th to 13th centuries. The "Temple District of Wat Phou and the associated ancient settlements in the Champasak Cultural Landscape" have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001.

We strolled around the temple complex and really enjoyed being here in the silence. Unlike Angkor Wat in Cambodia, where the tourists kick each other. According to legend, Wat Phou served as a model for Angkor Wat. But listen for yourself. And if you want: take a look at the pictures on the website!

And of course, in this episode we also take you into our travel life, telling you the little details of bus trips, beautiful hotels and tuktuk drivers.

Best wishes from South-East Asia,
