Slowly, these huge mountains come into view and my respect grows. I have not yet decided where exactly I will go over the passes. I am now faced with a decision in Airolo. Gotthard pass? Nufenen? Or further to the right in the direction of Graubünden? It all has to be considered carefully, but since it's evening now and I've done around 20 km with something like 1000 metres of altitude difference (straight stretch...) for the second day in a row, I'll decide tomorrow.
