Now here would be a fantastic picture of Heike speeding along on the sledge. Well, that's how it can be in the speed rush. (Unfortunately, here again: there's a bit of fibbing involved, because even when sledging I'm not the one breaking speed records). We had a fantastically beautiful last day of the year in the snow. In my beloved mountains. Up on the mountain, our toothbrush deposited at the Berggasthaus First and a whole day of family, girlfriend, snow and sunshine.
A "big" year is about to begin for us, and I look a little wistfully at the uniformity of the last few years, at a warm and cosy flat and things that are all in one place. And yes, even a little bit of a cellar in which things are kept that I only need once a year. And have their place.
But I also look back on a year full of planning, full of anticipation and full of travel preparations. Once again, I am grateful that when it is time to come home, I will be able to return to this beautiful place on earth.
