Slow Travel exercise: only one highlight per day.
Sightseeing in Oslo is on the agenda. As usual, Gerd is not prepared at all, I know the guidebook by heart. So actually everything is the same as always. I know the history of Oslo, all the changes of power and the architectural highlights. And then something completely new happens: I only want to see one thing. I have resolved to live less is more. I want to see the opera. I've already read a lot about it, but I want to see it live.
Once there, we marvel at the modern, award-winning building on the harbour, inaugurated in 2008.
The building, which is modelled on a floating iceberg, was designed by the Norwegian architecture firm "Schneekappe".
We see on the playbill that there is no performance today. Gerd can't quite hide his joy at this. I would have liked to see Figaro, but well, maybe we'll come here again.
