Big Trip - Little Break 🇨🇭 Day 611
Coincidence - as if there were such a thing! - has willed it that we girls celebrate two more girls' days. Felix is quickly made ready for the girls and off we roll.
The weather outlook doesn't look so great. But it's good that even weather apps can be wrong. So - thanks to my girlfriend's love of Coop newspapers - we hike along Lac de Neuchâtel. We walk through the small town of Estavayer-le-Lac with its beautiful Chenaux Castle.
Here there is a lot of rumbling in the pigeonholing of our heads: everywhere everything is written only in French, I don't understand anything. We discuss the fact that the French-speaking Swiss are "just like that" and don't feel like speaking German. What a huge drawer in us! "Then that's just the way it is", I still think, shaking my head.
A bend in the road further on, in front of the church, a small fruit and vegetable stall. My dear friend buys potatoes for our dinner in her best French (I love this language so much!). But when the vendor asks her a question in French, she looks helpless. What does he want from her? He looks at us, switches to Swiss-German and we decide on floury potatoes.
We are happy about his multilingualism and thank him. He responds: "That goes without saying, we shouldn't be separated by language in the same country!
