Big Trip - Little Break 🇨🇭 Day 611/2
The Coop newspaper (my girlfriend's secret source of hiking inspiration) recommends the Grande Cariçaie. The diversity of nature, flora and fauna and the number of animal and plant populations have made the Grande Cariçaie famous far beyond the borders of Switzerland. So now we know it too.
We walk along the southern shore of Lake Neuchâtel, or as it is more elegantly called: Lac de Neuchâtel. All around us, we see a mass of tiny insects, bio-noise at its best. The forest is wonderfully untidy, scrub and mossy tree trunks everywhere. We see thousands of plants whose names we don't know. Sometimes, when it gets too swampy for us humans, small boardwalks lead through nature.
We take a little detour to the Maldives - they call it Plage de Font here though - and I can't help myself, tie us a wreath of dandelion flowers (one of the few plants I really know) and think it looks great on us.
The small coffee break turns out to be only half-time (and I thought we had made it, but I didn't count on my wanderlusting girlfriend), we continue walking. For the return trip we decide to take the train and park our Felix a little later directly on the lake in Yverdon les Bains at the harbour. As soon as we arrive, it starts to rain and we sit in the dry, cook, eat, knit and talk.
Oh, and I'm silently moaning to myself, my legs are themselves very surprised at the unexpected and prolonged imposition today!
