🥾 A hike on the Way of St. James? Or just a shell in the old rock?
Our hiking group did not hike through olive groves the other day, but high up (600 m above sea level) with the best view through fig forests. Still bare, but it won't be long now. The first buds are visible. We continued through scrub (hiking trail?) and past a few small churches (break!) until we were actually almost back at the sea.
What we learn on our walks:
⛰ Greece is more mountainous than we thought (my dear friend Regula can already hear me moaning in my mind!).
There are edible figs and dried figs. So both are edible, only one variety is suitable for drying, the other for immediate consumption.
🏻 Never trust the time or the kilometre information given by the hike leader. "It's about 16 kilometres!" Or train secretly.
