There are days that surprise me. Yesterday was another one of those days. We were allowed to take our dear friend, who has never been on a motorbike before, on a tour. The moment she said yes, I knew it could be really good. Or not, because if you're scared on a motorbike, it's just no fun. And since we hike together, cook together (that is, we let her cook for us) and have great conversations, riding a motorbike together would be great, but not really necessary.
The morning starts with coffee and croissants and a dress rehearsal. It's good that she fits perfectly into my bike clothes. And good thing I just got my new ones. She wonders about protectors in all places and crinkles her ears when trying on her first helmet. With elf-like elegance she climbs up to Gerd (she was probably safer than with me, I don't understand why...) and we take off.
In the end, we were on the road for just under 8 hours in the Jura. Our favourite area for kürvelen, fantastic scenery, pleasant coolness and empty roads. Right on the doorstep, so to speak. And the evening ends, as it usually does, in their garden with delicious food, wonderful conversations and relaxing on the lawn.
Thank you, my dear, for taking the plunge! And I promise you: this will probably not be the last round this summer!
