We sit in the van. Gerd drives (almost the whole trip). I read in the guidebook that there must be sea lions here somewhere. A whole colony. "Look, we should see them in a minute!" I said and saw them immediately. Pull over to the right, camera out and look at these cute, fat, lumpy and sluggish animals. I could have watched for hours. They lie there so inert, reminding me of a cosy evening on the sofa. ⠀
With their fins they shovel sand onto their bellies or scratch under their arms (OK, arms they probably aren't). It's just beautiful. And funny. ⠀
Sometimes they also crawl across the beach and leave a trail as if from a tractor with huge tyres. ⠀
