Iran - A dream, the coastal road eastwards to Bandar Abbas

Iran - A dream, the coastal road eastwards to Bandar Abbas

We only make slow progress. We have to stop again and again, the stretches of beach are simply marvellous. We are also lonely here, which feels good for once. Now we really are in the Persian Gulf. We can't quite believe it yet - for us, this is the furthest and most exotic country yet.

We take off our shoes and walk through the sea like two lovers, but we don't go swimming. The dress code only allows women to wear a full body suit. Later on the island, I dare to go anyway: long leggings, a long-sleeved shirt and a headscarf tied into a turban.

The beaches are simply marvellous, the craggy mountains reach as far as the sea in places and our Felix meanders endlessly along the Persian Gulf.

And we realise: There are ebbs and flows here again, sometimes the water is gone, sometimes it comes right up to our little house overnight.

In a small harbour town, I dream of a promenade where we can take a stroll. (Gerd loves promenades and we're already looking forward like crazy when we're at the Baltic Sea in summer). An ice cream stand here, a nice café with cosy chairs and a view of the sea there. This wish will probably stay with us for a long time in Iran, unfortunately mostly unfulfilled.

So we eat in a really good but uncomfortable restaurant, drink coffee from what are probably fake Starbucks cups and are still very satisfied.

A few kilometres further on, we find a cute café at one of these large play and picnic areas and are allowed to spend the night right outside the door. Because tomorrow we have big plans: We're taking the ferry to Qeshm Island. THE island of Qeshm.

Merci for "travelling with us

We are thinking about taking another break from travelling in the summer and visiting our families in Germany and Switzerland. One of the ideas is to organise a Lecture about our long journey to the Persian Gulf to prepare. If you would like to, what would interest you the most? We will also tell stories here that don't find a place here on the blog. We're thinking of the Bern and Berlin area - simply because we have family there. But other places are also conceivable. Feel free to write to us.

Do you think our travel experiences might be of interest to others? Then you can share the Share post quietly. By e-mail or however you want to do it.

In addition, if you haven't already done so, you can use our Newsletter subscribe. Here you will receive all our experiences in your mailbox whenever we publish something new or once a week on Fridays: live-pur.ch/newsletter

We are also very happy to hear your views, your tips or your questions. Just comment on the post!

Bonjour, la peur ? Oui, bien sûr, parfois. Our fear accompanies us everywhere: is it allowed to stay anywhere in Germany? Is it true that our camping car will still be empty when we set off on courses in any city in the world? Are ours in Slovakia really dangerous? The fear of being hit in the jaws when descending from the camping car.

Do we want to avoid travelling for this reason? Ne pas vivre ?
Most of the things that make us suffer and that make us feel bad are statistically produced in the home.
Nous voyageons donc.

Ah, and nous avons passé trois mois en Tunisie, nous adorons ça.
