Iran - Off to the west, always along the coast

After an extensive and cosy breakfast with our new friends - even the camels came to visit us, what friends! - we continue our journey. Somehow saying goodbye is more common on this trip. We would love to stay longer in each place. But the point of travelling is to move on.

Google Maps suddenly shows a traffic jam on a completely car-free road, the line is red. "There must be people picnicking at the side of the road again," Gerd thinks aloud. And he's right. Whenever there are lots of mobile phones in one place, google shows traffic jams. Picnic traffic jam Iran-style, so to speak.

We are there too, but without a picnic. Because we also want to see the beautiful rock formations. Unfortunately, it's pretty crowded, so we can't really enjoy it. But we can feel the beauty. And we can't keep it to ourselves. So we stroll along with all the other Nowruz holidaymakers over the round washed stones, cool our feet in the shallow sea water and then bread them in the powder-soft sand.

We don't have long to drive today, we have our sights set on a small hostel that we already know. We make ourselves comfortable here and immerse ourselves in the romantic atmosphere, the good food and the turquoise blue sea. What more do you need than the sea?

In the evening, we stroll through the village and my long-cherished wish for a woven basket from Iran is fulfilled: I am able to convince Gerd that Felix finally has no more balls of yarn tangling around. And everything is in order. Not that I have to discuss such purchases, but in terms of space we have to see what works and what doesn't. The new basket definitely works! And it even has a lid, although I haven't used it once as I write this.

Merci for "travelling with us

We are thinking about taking another break from travelling in the summer and visiting our families in Germany and Switzerland. One of the ideas is to organise a Lecture about our long journey to the Persian Gulf to prepare. If you would like to, what would interest you the most? We will also tell stories here that don't find a place here on the blog. We're thinking of the Bern and Berlin area - simply because we have family there. But other places are also conceivable. Feel free to write to us.

Do you think our travel experiences might be of interest to others? Then you can share the Share post quietly. By e-mail or however you want to do it.

In addition, if you haven't already done so, you can use our Newsletter subscribe. Here you will receive all our experiences in your mailbox whenever we publish something new or once a week on Fridays: live-pur.ch/newsletter
