Coffee cup ️ with history.
You know those heirlooms that you hang on to? Things that are associated with emotions? This mug is one of them.
My mum gave me this cup years ago because she likes to drink coffee from elegant cups and I always, as she says, from such huge pots.
And when she gives it to me like this, she tells me that this cup can hold exactly one pound of coffee beans. During the war or shortly afterwards, her mum and aunt used this cup to measure out coffee beans by the pound and sell them (whenever they had some to sell). And all their friends, acquaintances and customers knew that this cup was exactly the right size.
And now it's landed with me, I've never measured a pound of coffee in my life. But every time I make myself a pot of coffee, I think about what the cup could tell me... and my imagination runs away with me.
