Great Journey 🏍 Day 364
What could be better for us than a wine tasting?
Pretty much everything!
But as it goes, along for the ride.
On our little Kakheti round trip we are whisked away to a small village, Udabno. Which actually just means desert.

Here, a Swanetian-Polish couple with a warm heart has set out to entertain guests passing through. And they do it with a lot of ingenuity, a varied menu, fun interior design and great homemade lemonades.

After the much too late but nevertheless grandiose lunch, we continue, as Alex points out, to the most dangerous part of our tour: the wine tasting. Kakheti is the wine bar of Georgia and Georgian wine is one of the best anyway!

We enter a small wonder world. The garden is full of love, the interior is dreamy and the reception is lively. We watch the events from the sidelines, all of us are supposed to taste in comfort. While no one in the Vineria even comments that we don't want anything to drink, the other guests are amazed when we say that the wine is not ours. No, no schnapps either. And beer, nope, not that either. Questioning faces. Then why are we in Georgia, we are asked.

As often as we hear this question, the answer is always the same: because of nature, because of culture, because of people and, last but not least, because we don't miss wine.

We sit in the enchanting garden and reflect on the last few days: Yes, we are beginning to like Georgia. Really!
