Great Journey 🏍 Day 231
Interim report kittens.
Of the four little treasures, two unfortunately didn't make it. At some point they stopped drinking and did not grow any more. Our landlady said that this was to be expected, as the birth of all 4 kittens took over 3 hours. We believe her, but don't know for sure. We are very sad about this, especially as they were our first real kittens.
Otherwise we sit quite a lot next to the two baby kittens, who now have names, Pünktchen and Giovanni, and watch them. Better than TV, internet or news. Better than any feature film or book. We watch them sleep, eat (drink?), crawl around and grow.
Last Sunday we had a visitor, or the cats did, but we couldn't be quite sure. And that was probably too much turmoil for the mummy cat and she left her luxury sleeping bag place and moved with the gang. And where to? Into our bed.
Since then, we have been lying in bed like question marks, just so that the little family can slumber in peace on our blanket. Because carrying the little ones out again was not an option. Even when I suggested this to Gerd, his look told me that it was probably just a joke... Okay, I gave in and now share the bed with other kitties 🐈
While I usually greet the morning with a coffee on the balcony, I now sit in bed with just that coffee and start the day with an episode of "Cat-Babys". Gerd doesn't even need coffee for that.
