It was no secret to me that my dear friend is a passionate Coop newspaper power reader. In addition to recipes that have to be tried (thank you for that!), she always finds hiking areas in her favourite magazine that were previously unknown to us. For years, Uri was more of a transit canton for us. The fact that you can also swing your hiking leg there was unknown to us.
The little Gondeli takes us up to the small reservoir. And already we are almost bursting with joy. The area is so beautiful. And the anticipation of walking right up to the Sunniggrat makes the picnic-filled rucksack seem three times lighter. She doesn't comment on my suggestion to eat everything immediately so that the meal is done, and just starts walking.
We stumble along a rather steep forest path over roots and moss towards the ridge. After about halfway, we meet another hiking couple who convincingly explain to themselves and us that we can already enjoy the view and start the descent. We share our fresh butter plait with them and follow them at a short distance.
Down in the mountain restaurant we meet them again and enjoy coffee, plum jam and - this really has to be after a year of abstinence from Switzerland - the obligatory nut croissant (which in Uri is actually a nut bar). And, by the way, we let the sun shine on our fur. What a day! The goal today was lightness. In terms of atmosphere and hiking, we achieved, if not exceeded, our goal. It remains to be seen whether plum cake and nut croissants are fundamentally conducive to lightness.
