Norway Tour ?? Day 23
Switzerland is making it really easy for us to come home today. Sunshine, temperatures quickly climb to over 20 degrees. Nevertheless: we roll off the train and immediately enter "winding road" into our sat nav. And not straight home, first a little more Jura. Or a little more Jura. And the roads are - as always in the Jura - beautifully empty.
It gets quiet inside us. We hardly talk, everyone is preoccupied with their own thoughts. Too bad, the Norway tour is over. It was supposed to be the test. For our great adventure. Did we, did our equipment pass the test? Will I eventually manage to make peace with loose road surfaces? How long will Gerd's patience last? One more little weekend, then we start into the last months before our adventure. I guess it's only 10 months now.
We have breakfast at the French-Swiss forest border near Roggenburg in an enchanting restaurant. They know how to make coffee! A delight!
And even my cat cuddle deficit is taken care of. Lovely. Here we are recording a podcast episode, but somehow it's not going well today. We break off and adjourn. We let ourselves be enchanted by the autumnal forest and, after several mountain roads, suddenly find ourselves at a mountain inn with a dream view. High above Grenchen. It's known for the best cream cake far and wide. And we try to capture the interesting panoramic view of the Alps with our cameras. The snow-covered mountains seem to push themselves over the weeks. Fairytale-like again.
We roll down the mountain and we are already home, well almost. At home, as after every journey, it's time to unpack. This time with a system. Every single shred is entered in a list with a comment as to whether it is suitable, not suitable or needs to be improved again. Even though there are only 4 side cases, the list is long. Now just save the list and close the laptop as quickly as possible - after all, it's still holiday time. See you on Sunday evening!
