Germany - Passau, gospel and lots of snowflakes

Germany - Passau and lots of snowflakes

Snowflakes in bitterly cold southern Germany and the world is upside down. Nothing else is reported while we think about how to get south as quickly as possible. Our little surprise diversions was probably not such a good idea after all, traffic-wise ...

So once again we change all our plans and take a diversion, speeding north of the snow motorways to the east. We make it as far as Passau and find a magical spot on one of the three rivers that flow together here in the Dreiflüsseeck.

Our offices are quickly set up and at minus 10 to minus 13 degrees we let the heating bump properly and work through our Mondays and Tuesdays.

But what to do in the evening? After a visit to the Christmas market (we are becoming Christmas market professionals), I find a gospel concert in a beautiful church.

We book two tickets for Carol AlstonPaul Zauner, Oliver Lipinski and Jan Korinek, go out for a fine Bavarian meal beforehand and swing along to the gospel groove late at night. And make a resolution: If we ever come to America, we'll listen to lots of gospel choirs. The music carries us away.

Just read this: Soulful music helps against gloomy everyday thoughts, has a brightening effect and strengthens the immune system. Administered 3 times a day: singing once a day (preferably while walking for at least 1 hour), 1 hour of jazz from a record player and a daily jazz, blues or gospel concert increase well-being enormously, so much so that it can no longer be measured. (I've lost the source, sorry)

With swaying hips and black ice under our boots, we slide back to our Felix. Because tomorrow we're off again: a big trip and maybe we'll even make it to 2 countries. Let's see!

Merci for "travelling with us

We are thinking about taking another break from travelling in the summer and visiting our families in Germany and Switzerland. One of the ideas is to organise a Lecture about our long journey to the Persian Gulf to prepare. If you would like to, what would interest you the most? We will also tell stories here that don't find a place here on the blog. We're thinking of the Bern and Berlin area - simply because we have family there. But other places are also conceivable. Feel free to write to us.

Do you think our travel experiences might be of interest to others? Then you can share the Share post quietly. By e-mail or however you want to do it.

In addition, if you haven't already done so, you can use our Newsletter subscribe. Here you will receive all our experiences in your mailbox whenever we publish something new or once a week on Fridays: live-pur.ch/newsletter

We are also very happy to hear your views, your tips or your questions. Just comment on the post!

Beautiful, Passau and snow.
If that's not Christmassy. 🎄🌟
Have fun and enjoy your journey.

Apart from our Danube trip, Passau alone was worth the journey to the "south" in May. Despite the scaffolding inside, the cathedral was simply stunning. And the view of the partly Italian architecture from the Veste Oberhaus enchanted us. Thank you for the beautiful pictures in winter flair.
Have a good journey!
Greetings from Beate
