As beautiful as such a temple is, the heat, the humidity and the desire to scramble up there gave me quite a buzz, in the truest sense of the word. At some point I gave up trying to wipe the sweat from my forehead. Our shirts were soaking wet, we were completely soaked. At the very top, behind the temple, there was a small water rivulet, a miniature spring. Here, the Laotians fill their bottles drop by drop with the (holy?) water. I, on the other hand, put my whole head under it and cool down a bit. Exchange warm wetness for coolness. And I'm happy that it's all downhill now. And that we will be picked up by tuktuk.
