Batman. Who doesn't immediately think of Batman, pronounced: Baat-Maan, when he thinks of Turkey? He also rightly does not appear anywhere in a travel guide.
Nevertheless, we spend a wonderful 3 days here.
How could this happen? Tamer and his wife took us in. Or did we invite ourselves? It started quite harmlessly, I asked if they knew an ear doctor, I had something in my ear. Since they are both doctors, they immediately made an appointment at the hospital, with a hearing test and so on.
So we arrive in this Batman, ask for a hotel recommendation via WhatsApp and get this answer: "The best hotel in Batman is our house! So we move into the children's room, but then have to move into the parents' bedroom, which is more comfortable for us!
We spend the days at the in-house pool, are fed every hour and drink alternately tea and café. We chat all day until Emire, Tamer's wife, comes home from work in the evening and we can finally eat. We have been full since noon, but never mind. We learn that the meaning of life is food. And anyone who refuses to eat has missed out on the meaning of life.
We are touched that Tamer wants to spend his last holiday week with us. We learn so much about the country and its people, he asks us about Switzerland. In the evening we sit with candlelight, Turkish food and Swiss alphorn music (he really wanted to hear that!) and are just delighted.
The next morning starts - how could it be otherwise - with a "small" breakfast for an estimated 20 people. So we start already in the morning with the fulfilment of our new found task in life: eating! Afterwards, Tamer drives us to the hospital, we are channeled through the jungle of departments and I am examined. Diagnosis: nothing. Everything is fine. I can even hear well. Until now, I had successfully lived the strategy "I haven't heard - so I don't have to! So this examination was a big own goal for me. Well, since I now know the meaning of life, I can live with such mistakes.
