Great Journey 🏍 Day 270
We make ourselves comfortable for two days in Sozopol. Sozopol is one of the oldest towns in Bulgaria and the best thing about it: the old town is in beautiful condition.

The (old) town itself lies on a peninsula and all around, the waves lap the blue water against the rocks. Historically, you can spend days here, there are excavation sites everywhere, which are once again skilfully integrated into the townscape. (Or rather: the city was built well around them).

From almost every café or restaurant we see either an ancient little church or just "old stones", as we always say. The houses here are made of stone, the second floor with a wooden superstructure. It's wonderful to stroll, little shops want to tempt us (but we keep an eye on our luggage and we actually only buy two teeny glittery purses, one for Kathi, one for us) and already on the first evening we have a regular resti, which we will now visit every evening. Why be flexible when the first one is already good?

Sozopol has something for all of us: history for me, enough cats for Kathi and Gerd and for all of us, already very early in the morning, the noise of the seagulls. We praise the seagulls on the Baltic Sea, they don't make such a racket!
