Great Journey 🇨🇭 Day 459
We are on our way to Appenzeller Land. Our Felix has had a few upgrades, a bit of underbody protection here, a new gas tank there.
And we experience the "day of the first times"!
We are on the road and have to fill up with gas for the first time. Gas is such a thing... We have a bit of respect for it. And because that's the case, we quickly call Steiners again. After all, they installed the gas tank for us and should know how to do it.
A little later we get a video with precise instructions. And already we are standing at the petrol station, the mobile phone with the instruction video in one hand, with the other hand we fumble the adapter into the newly added hole in Felix, rumble at the gas tank column, press buttons and a little later we have the "we-can-now-heat-as-long-as-we-want" smile on our faces.
In Appenzeller Land we want to go to a campsite for the first time with our Felix. Monday is a working day and we need a bit more electricity than usual.
And then, for the first time, we also fill water into our fresh water tank. I quickly stand ready, "Water march!". It only takes about 10 seconds and my feet are soaking wet. The water we fill in at the top splashes out directly under Felix, also onto my shoes. Aha, something seems to be open, we're just watering the floor at the moment. But here too we realise where the fault lies, close some hidden valves and the water now stays in the tank. So we can fill up the water too.
In the evening we have our third "first time". We have a visitor for the night. We make ourselves comfortable in our dinette (another word from the camping world). Everyone brings something to eat, we cook mulled wine in Felix and later also dinner (and I am a bit wasteful when cooking, after all we have a full gas tank) and chat.
First times are really great! And we are happy. We end the evening with a little dance, Felix is forced to join in a bit and we quickly check again whether the handbrake is on.
