Great Journey Day 492
Once in a hurry (for us, hurry is defined a little differently - for reasons) from Rügen over to Travemünde. The sat nav says it will take a couple of hours, we are already panicking. This is actually a route that we usually like to make into a week.

All right, but at least we have to make a diversion via the Darß. We still have to take in a few piers, the Baltic Sea wind should blow around our noses.

We are pleased that there is something similar to sunshine on the Darß. But the fact that the wind is bitterly cold is less so. Once again we ask ourselves the unanswerable question, why on earth are we going north?

One last time we fill up our sea buckthorn hot drink storage, set Felix's heating to turbo and buy cake in Ahrenshoop at Café Namenlos. (The cake from there is a must, there's no other way I can drive by there). And we are already in Travemünde, freshly tested and standing quite romantically with floodlights, truck traffic and round-the-clock bus lines in the ferry port for our last night in Germany for the time being.

For the first time since we started sleeping in our little house, we are sleeping badly. Are we excited? Do we know what we are getting ourselves into? Is it the noise around us or are we sick to our stomachs of the last chocolate Santas? Either way, at some point the night is finally over and off we go, Sweden we come!
