Iran - Dolphin tour without dolphins on the island of Hengam

At Canyon we are asked by a group of young people if we would like to join them. At sunset on the beach and later for dinner in their hostel. Sunsets are not to be missed. We all jump into the water together, on a secluded beach without large crowds of tourists. The sun sets over the sea and one of the young people starts singing Persian songs in a beautiful baritone. We are all up to our shoulders in the lukewarm water of the Persian Gulf, the gentle waves lapping around us and the singer's voice touches our hearts.

We spend the evening enjoying home cooking in one of the nicest hostels we have experienced in Iran so far. We were allowed to take a quick shower (always a good idea after a dip in the sea) and spent the evening singing and having really good conversations. Late, very late in the evening we crawl into our Felix and in the morning we have to get back to the sea quickly, the sun is beating down too hard on our little house and we urgently need the wind. Around 30 degrees and above in the camper is pretty intense, but wind is always good.

Today we want to see the dolphins that everyone is talking about. We board a small boat, sail over to the island of Hengam and look forward to seeing the dolphins. Instead of dolphins, we see Iranian gazelles, small miniature fish and lots of giant crabs, the famous silver beach and fantastic rock formations. We are also dropped off in a village where we are supposed to buy souvenirs. We stroll around a bit and watch the hustle and bustle of the village instead.

Okay, no dolphins today, that's just the way it is. Happens to us again and again. Everyone else sees dolphins, we don't. We seem to be slowly getting used to it, even if we don't like it.

We find a quiet beach where we can stay for a few days. Oh, the sea is something great, even without visible dolphins.

Merci for "travelling with us

We are thinking about taking another break from travelling in the summer and visiting our families in Germany and Switzerland. One of the ideas is to organise a Lecture about our long journey to the Persian Gulf to prepare. If you would like to, what would interest you the most? We will also tell stories here that don't find a place here on the blog. We're thinking of the Bern and Berlin area - simply because we have family there. But other places are also conceivable. Feel free to write to us.

Do you think our travel experiences might be of interest to others? Then you can share the Share post quietly. By e-mail or however you want to do it.

In addition, if you haven't already done so, you can use our Newsletter subscribe. Here you will receive all our experiences in your mailbox whenever we publish something new or once a week on Fridays: live-pur.ch/newsletter

We are also very happy to hear your views, your tips or your questions. Just comment on the post!

Beautiful.🥰
Even without dolphins. 🤣
I've been dreaming about it for ages.
Never worked out.
But I have already experienced whales.
High up in Norway. 💜

Beautiful pictures again....🥰
And you both look great too. 👍

Thank you, dear. Yes, the dolphins are probably not meant to be. But tortoises and camels are quite something 🥰

Every animal that you can experience in the wild and healthy is a gift. 👍
They are grateful and satisfied.

Something most people can no longer do. 😔
