Norway Tour ?? Day 9
We don't take the ferry back to Stavanger, but get off at Songesand. See that there is a road there.
By the way: we skipped both great tourist highlights: Kjerag and Preikestolen. And yes, we are aware that it is a pity.
So, we rumble off the ferry, eyes closed and through, and find ourselves standing all alone on a cliff on the Lysefjord. A narrow road winds its way up here. I'm starting to get tired, so we decide to camp somewhere wild. We have everything with us. Water, pancake batter, garlic bread and coffee. What could go wrong?
We look right, we look left for suitable. places. And then we come to a makeshift hut, which is locked but has a pomfortable, wind-protected wooden terrace. And on top of that, a magnificent sunset.
Gerd puts up the tent, blows up the mattresses and prepares the beds. I unpack what we need for the night from the motorbikes (honestly not much - we live, ride, sleep in the same clothes) and start sizzling.
Unfortunately, we are half an hour late - because it gets really cold surprisingly quickly and we eat, do the dishes (although I suspect that more gets stuck in the drying towel than in the rinse water without a sink, because nature!) and make ourselves comfortable in the tent around half past eight.
Not a trace of sleep at first. All these unfamiliar noises. The ringing of the sheep, the rustling of the tent wall, then a few people who have to go for a walk here with barking dogs. But at some point tiredness overcomes us and we fall asleep. #camping #pancakes #pancake walking always
